The Company uses two CAD systems (AVEVA Plant and Intergraph SmartPlant Enterprise) to develop digital models of designed facilities, create a database of their engineering parameters and build a detailed 3D model of each designed facility. The 3D model and the database are then used to generate detailed design documentation for construction.
JSC Giprogazoochistka completed the revamp of the Sulphur Recovery Unit at TAIF NK Oil Refinery in Nizhnekamsk enabling to boost the production of granulated sulphur by 57 per cent thus bringing the output of sulphur to 55 thousand tons per year.

As part of an annual review of sulphur and sulphuric acid market, Sulphur magazine, an influential English publication, included 7 Russian projects in its global listing of the biggest sulphur recovery projects, with four of these projects - at Afipsky Oil Refinery, Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery, TANECO and Ryazan Oil Refining Company - implemented by JSC Giprogazoochistka.
Sulphur Recovery Complex was put into operation at JSC TANECO. The Complex comprises MDEA Regeneration Section, the first line of Sour Water Stripping and Sulphur Recovery Unit, and Sulphur Granulation Unit. The first line has a design capacity of 410 tons per day.

The Company developed the design of process units as part of a major retrofit programme implemented at oil refineries owned by Oil Company ROSNEFT (Kuibyshev Refinery, Novokuibyshevsk Refinery and Syzran Refinery).
Combined Gas Desulphurization and Sulphuric Acid Production Unit with a capacity of 130 thousand tons/year was put into operation at LUKOIL-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez LLC. Combined Gas Purification Unit Revamp Project was completed at Moscow Oil Refinery.

Following privatization and incorporation, Joint Stock Company Giprogazoochistka became the legal successor of Design Institute Giprogazoochistka.
The Institute installed an electronic computing machine that occupied about 30 sq. m. of floor space.
The Council of Ministers of the USSR entrusted the Institute with the responsibility of coordinating design and research activities in the field of gas purification carried out across the Soviet Union, developing key technical approaches to be used in the design of gas purification facilities, and implementing design and experimental works associated with the introduction of new cutting-edge gas purification technologies and equipment.
As of the first of March the number of employees in Giprogazoochistka amounted to 307 persons.

After Glavhimproekt ceased to exist, Giprogazoochistka Institute once again passed under the authority of Gazoochistka Trust Company.
After restructuring of the Design Bureau that was part of Gazoochistka Trust Company, Giprogazoochistka, a state institute for the design of gas treatment facilities, was formed. The Institute was entrusted with a leading role in designing facilities for desulphurization of flue gases produced by electric power plants.
This point in time can be viewed as the year of formation of an organization that today has the competencies of a full cycle engineering company with unique technologies, professional staff and a clear strategic development paradigm.
Adapting to the exigencies of the changing world, Giprogazoochistka changed its affiliation several times: it was successively affiliated with Gazoochistka Trust Company, the Ministry of Chemical Industry and Glavhimproekt within the Ministry of Chemical Industry.
Gazoochistka Trust Company operates a design bureau among its various functional divisions.
Afanasy Petrovich Kozlov was appointed Director of the design bureau that operated within Gazoochistka Trust Company which was later transformed into Giprogazoochistka Institute.
Gazoochistka Trust Company comes into existence.
Electric filters department was created within Chemstroy of the USSR.
The department (to be transformed later into Electric Filters Bureau) was managed by Boris Lvovich Shneerson and Nikolay Nikolayevich Egorov.
