Research and development activities of JSC "Giprogazoochistka" aimed at the development of the Russian oil and gas industry, brings significant results. At the State Register of Inventions of the Russian Federation on September 28, 2016 the company registered it's advanced design. The company took out a patent on a plate catalytic reactor which is an effective output device for the process gas from the reactor.
The proposed design of the plate catalytic reactor will achieve a higher degree of sulfur recovery by eliminating the losses that can reach 0.2-0.3% of the total sulfur recovery. The result achieved by the uniform load of the process gas in the catalyst bed and the exclusion of sulfur carried with the flow.
The new development of "Giprogazoochistka" increases the efficiency of sulfur recovery using plate catalytic reactors by eliminating loss of sulfur removal from the reactor. The innovative solution can be applied in all new projects sulfur plants by the Claus method below the dew point, as well as the reconstruction of existing facilities.
Timeliness of the development conditioned by the need of higher ecological safety at oil and gas sector's facility, energy efficiency and minimal probability of technological risks in the implementation.
